Absolutely no idea - so I asked my wife  :-[

She said Yamaha & Korg (she plays a bit y'see.....  ;) )
The brainwashed do not know that they are brainwashed...

Deenfan

Korg, of course...

And Kurzweil, although it was a close race against Yamaha :)

gelert

Korg (non-negiotable), and Ronald...

The rest are just girlie sample-based malarkey....

1) Ronald???  Doesn't he have something to do with burgers??   ;D

2) Clavia, Alesis, Kurzweil all make pure synths (Nord Lead, Andromeda, VA1 respectively!) .............So where's this girlie sample-based malarkey then? ;)

The cat seems to be stalking the pigeons...!

I just put in a vote that will spread the results, cos I just took those that I believe I've seen most....hehe!

And yes, that means that I don't have the foggiest notion about keyboards, apart from that if well used -like Clive does!- they will sound great.
Arriving somewhere, but not here....

I had to put Yamaha, since me and Hogweed happen to own one!  :)

He's a lot better at playing it than me, but then he's been playing for years whereas I'm just beginning to learn.

Like others have said, it ain't what you use, tis the way that you use it, so the likes of Clive Nolan, Martin Orford, Rick Wakeman, etc, would be able to get a decent tune out of a Stylophone!  Put the best keyboard in front of a total novice like me and all you get is a cacophony of horrid noise, so a lot is to do with the player!

That's right.
But the Proper Keyboard Poll Trilogy is looking at the actual keyboards.  But you alredy knew that! ;)

Is it MIDI Compatible...?

If yes, then I'll take 16 of them...!

I'm not a keyboard specialist, what's that MIDI Compatible, as long as it makes nice sounds than it's a good keyboard to me.

No I didn't take offence, I just found Most Idiots Demant It it a funny explanation, Yes of course I understand it's a way to connect the keyboard with something else. I think with a computer or something like that. I'm not familiar with Keyboards, I never played on them and I never knew what the possibilities are of a keyboard, I never did any research after them. You can't be educated in everything I think. I just like the noise which it can give especially when Clive Nolan plays on them, he's fantastic. But I didn't take it as an offence, thank You for Your concern, now I'm angry (just joking).

Musical Instrument Digital Interface

MIDI enables keyboards to play other keyboards, sound modules, synths, etc...
MIDI enables various different equipment to change the patches and sounds of various other equipment...
MIDI enables any MIDI configured gear to exchange MIDI data with other MIDI configured gear...

That should help you... ;)
