#MPin2012.

A hashtag that is so easy to find on twitter.
Just punch it in and you'll get loads of info and messages from fans!

Well, maybe a bit too much intell.
Not everything is worthy to know, you know. ;)

But one thing, is.

The story of a project, until then still without a name, began almost a year ago and finally, after a period of silence the word has come out;

Flying Colors has arrived!

"Now, who are they?" I hear you think. ;)

Flying colors is a collaboration between;

Steve Morse (Deep Purple, Dixie Dregs), guitars.
Neal Morse (ex-Spock's Beard and solo), keyboards, vocals.
Dave Larue (Dixie Dregs, Steve Vai among others), bass.
Casey Mcpherson (Mercury Rev), vocals, rhythm guitars, keyboards.
Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater, Transatlantic, Neal Morse etc etc), drums, percussion, vocals.

On March 26th they will unleash (or a tad bit less dramatic ;)) their debut album to the world.

What can you expect from this fellowship?

Everything between U2, Radiohead, Muse and The Beatles suffused in a proggy light. :)

An appetizing combination I'd say!  *horns* 8)

I saw you mentioning Mercury Rev a few times, but actually Casey McPherson is in a band called Alpha Rev.

Oh, and they are bloody good too! 8)

Thanks for the hint, mad, this project sounds extremely promising, from what little can be heard below the... humongous self-adulation that took place in that video!!! :D

No really, they sound cool, might buy this when it comes out... and I haven't forgotten about it by then.
Arriving somewhere, but not here....

"Flying Colors" is a pretty cool debut album. In fact, I'm listening to it right now and enjoy it very much.
Checking on facebook I saw that they're already recording for 'chapter two':

When looking at their website I saw that they announced their second album in March already!

"Most of you have heard talk of a second Flying Colors studio album. We can now confirm that this work has begun! There is no release date or other information at this time. Nor will there be for quite a while, so please don't ask...we're just getting started. We'd like to thank our label, Mascot Label Group, for continuing with and supporting us in this epic journey. And of course, our fans—you guys are amazing!"

Might get a 2013 release?

On twitter, Mike P. occasionally starts a Q & A with the fans.
One of his answers about Flying Colors was, that for the time being, it's going to be a 2014 release.

Hopefully sooner, but the dude is rather busy with the Winery Dogs.
