There are some people who talk about some people going over into some sorta higher dimension  ???

Mankind is in a crisis, no doubt about that. We're still big egoists, relative to what we could do at this point in evolution:  Show more consideration toward fellow humans, animals, and nature; cut down on all our desires - which have grown thru the past years - and turn our focus toward the essential questions:  What are we here for - the purpose of life / my life ?  Where do I come from ?  Where do I go - after this life in time and space ?  What in life has a lasting value, what is fleeting ?

Guys, priorities, decisions, perseverence, these are keywords:  What's important, what's less important; where can I cut down, considering that I'm just catering to my own lusts, and being uncaring towards others, and maybe even undermining subsistence for others / the environment.

As a starter, I think that 2012 calls for these considerations  :)
