Just ordered the Arena live DVD 'Rapture', which will probably arrive next Friday. Woohoo, me happy *horns* *horns*.
Indeed, the DVD arrived safely ;) Tonight I'll be watching it 8).

Just ordered:

David Bowie:  The Next Day  &  Low

Circus Maximus:  Isolate

Bought the real McCD this time; the one I had was a promo, gave it to a friend.

Steppenwolf 7

Big Steppenwolf fan here. Anyone else into'm ?

Benny Anderssons Orkester:  O Klang Och Jubeltid

Benny was one of the B's in ABBA. With his new guys, he's become quite eclectic and progressive, exploring new territory. Some real nice stuff on this one.

Introducing A.R. Rahman

Got interested in this guy cuz of the dvd "The Story of India", great dvd and some fine music here and there.

Robert Crosbie:  The Friendly Philosopher

Great book about H.P. Blavatsky, the founder of modern Theosophy. As many of you (should) know, I'm a BIG Blavatsky fan.

George Lakoff:  Metaphors We Live By

A classic in its field. I'm a big lingofreak too.

I don't think that anyone can accuse me of being single-track minded  ;)

I ordered TransAtlantic's "Whirld Tour 2010: Live In London". Can't wait.

Is here anyone who also has "More Never Is Enough" by this group? It seems like it's exactly the same setlist and I was wondering if I made the right choice by choosing their "Live In London" 3cd/2dvd set...

Added Anathema's 'Judgement' to my latest purchases.

I don't think there is much between them. They probably recorded both in case one wasn't good enough. I prefer the London one but only because I was there.  :)

Just bought the Nosound album 'Afterthoughts'. Nice Italian band I discovered recently. The music is dark, atmospheric, a violin so now and then. Don't expect heavy guitar riffs ::). Well, really like it, you have to be in the right mood for it. Reminds me a bit of Gazpacho so now and then. And 16 euros for a cd and an extra 5.1 mix DVD is well worth the money!

Spock's Beard - Brief Nocturnes and Dreamless Sleep.

At last!  Originally ordered the limited edition CD release, but they sent me the standard one :(
Returned if for replacement but eventually received a refund instead of the required item >:(
Just noticed on the Spock's official site they're doing a 24bit download through Bandcamp.com (20 US dollars) so bought that 8)

During my holidays I had the chance to buy 'The Triple Album Collection' from Dream Theater for just 5,55 euros. The albums are:
1. A Change Of Seasons
2. Metropolis pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory
3. Octavarium
Although I'm not into that 'too heavy' stuff, I couldn't resist for this price ;).

I've seen that in the shops a few times. I already have these albums, but even for me it was almost hard to resist.

Bupie

Very good deal, Teunis. And only a few tracks of Scenes should be too heavy for you.

You have some nice covers on Change and even an previously unreleased Muse track on Octavarium. I'll let you find which one  :)

Hahaha!
Not only Muse. Also U2 and of course Genesis, Pink Floyd, Yes...

Okay okay guys, now I now why I like (a lot of) DT ;). The covers on 'A Change Of Seasons' were quite obvious though.

Anyone who already has the Arena Live 2 cd? Got a mail from my record store that they have it in stock. He'll reserve one for me, will pick it up at the end of the week.

I didnt find Seasons very memorable. I&W is better, the song Another Day I like a lot.

But for me, the Dream Theater saga really starts with Awake, Track 3: Innocence Faded (skip tracks 1&2, and Seasons). From there on, it's pure musical pleasure  *horns*

To-Mera - Exile

Official download from http://to-mera.bandcamp.com

Yeah, it's strange that they havent got it out on cd yet. Guess they still only have few listeners  :(

I'm also missing Radiance's "The Burning Sun" on cd (Mad prob too). I e-mailed Sami Raatikainen about it, and he said "Yeah, let's see, one day, but ya know, the music bizniz ...", and we ended up talking astrophysics (he's studying it, I did at Uni). Thats what ya get outta networking  ;)

Yesterday I ordered a few albums.
These already made it into my collection today:

Yes - "Tormato"
I have yet to listen to this! I wonder if it's really that bad, like everybody says.

Yes - "Keys To Ascension" (the box set which includes part 1 and 2 and the dvd)
Already halfway through the dvd. Well, what can I say? The music is fantastic, and pretty good performance too. But the way this dvd was edited... it's not good. Still, I'm glad I bought it, because I had a great time watching it (at some parts I closed my eyes or just looked away because the video editor goes crazy...).

The Tangent - "Le Sacre Du Travail"
People say this is absolutely their best! So I'm thrilled to find out

Two discs are on their way:
Big Big Train - "The Underfall Yard"
Big Big Train - "Far Skies Deep Time"
8)

I don't know who "everybody" is, don't care either. I rarely go by negative reviews, usually means that people havent listened properly to the album  ;)

Tormato is not as in yer face rocky and exciting, it's more playful and subtle, and most definitely a great album  *horns*

I expect that you in particular, Paxi, will enjoy it, it's the sorta twisty-and-turny thingy that you like  :)
