Hehehehe, the tv-advert was really funny. But as a result everybody is making those jokes now, so it's a bit overdone...
But on an English forum it's always fun to make the others go "huh?". ;D

Believe me, they already go "huh?" when we type down normal Dutch words! :D
There will be white clouds beyond the hills...

You have a date? Or is it because something's wrong with you?

-Paco

bluepony

A date with the doc?!  :o  Nope, not really... I just wanted her to check on the tonsillitis thing I've had for the last two and a half months. She says I should be fine, but then why don't I feel better?  ???

I don't have them anymore either (had them removed when I was 8 because I had tonsillitis at least twice a year - funny, huh?), that's why this inflammation or whatever it may be is so hard to cure. It settled in my lymph nodes now... but penicillin helped (at least a little).

Not sure, since one can obviously live without them... I think I heard once that they're just big lymph nodes or so.

tonsillitis are only important for the young of ages, read: newborns. Up onto their second birthday/age they need it as an extra defence against all sorts of infections.
After that, it's a helpful item yet you can live without it since your own body, if you're lucky that is  ;), has build a defence (a bigger and better lymph nodes that is prudent enough to withstand most of the infections.

Ahem... I don't want to be a know-it-all, but I think what you mean, Maddox, are the tonsils. Tonsillitis is an infection of those... (at least that's what I've been taught). Oh, and I can definitely NOT agree with the "withstand most of the infections" part - because MY tonsils used to be more infected than healthy! (That's why they were removed...)

maddox

Yes you're right, Bluey. They get easily infected at a later age.
That's the reason why it's better to be removed at an early age.
If i remember correctly, mine were 'cut' away when i was about nine years old. However there is a danger that they can grow back.
Or so i'm told.  ;)

Sleep well everyone.  :)

I'm outta here!
I'm quickly escaping through the backdoor.
I shouldn't type when being so tired...

Sleep well everybody!

Sadly all your good wishes didn't help much, Paco. I had a horrible night...  :( ...but that certainly wasn't your fault! I guess we're close to a full moon or something...

bluepony

I have to go now so - good night everybody!
