:o

Bowie is one of the most ingenious rock musicians eva  *horns*

Since you know nothing about Bowie, Paxi  :P  Outside is not the right place to start. My fave Bowie-album is Diamond Dogs, but it may sound a bit outdated to you, so I can recommend Scary Monsters, from 1980, with Robert Fripp, Tony Visconti, and Carlos Alomar in the mix  ;)

- Nicky

Thank you, I'll take a listen. :)

Melodic progmetal group from Hälsingborg, tasty riffs and measured solos, fine compassionate lyrics - as good as it gets  *horns*

Caps are away from home for olong times  :D

Paxi, you got me goin on an Opeth jaunt:

NP  Opeth:  Ghost Reveries  Deliverance  Blackwater Park

I hadnt played them for a looong time. It was particularly refreshing to hear Ghost Of Perdition and The Baying Of The Hounds again - man, this stuff is hound horny  *horns*

Damnation I'v actually listened to quite a lot, as it's the only one Ms 007 can take  ;)

Re Dream Theater, Paxi:  I don't like to grade their albums and songs, as we're talking about music of the absolute highest quality here. Except for their first album, I always enjoy listening to DT. Even I&W, altho on-the-way, I enjoy more with every listen  *horns*

It's never too late : Surrounded, Take The Time, Metropolis, Learning to Live *horns*  Since you are fond of Awake, you should also enjoy big time Under A Glass Moon. And what about the rest ? I have got tired of Pull Me Under but I remember how I was impressed at first listen. And I still would listen to Another Day every day  :) Add the gentle Wait For Sleep an you have a classic for ages  8)

Bupie, I'm pretty obviously heavier than you. Therefore I also like TOT a lot. I do like I&W, but not as much as the following DT-albums :-)

I could imagine, if it was the first one heard of DT. But most of their music is far better than this song.

Another Day

Another Day is clearly the pearl of the album  *horns*

After Opeth, I just couldn't help myself. I just had to play these two videos again:

Devin Townsend - Awake
Devin Townsend - Kingdom

Anneke van Giersbergen and Devin Townsend... seriously, can this get any better?

Re Devin, I mean, he's heavy enuff, but somehow he seems a bit impatient to me, doesn't quite get his stuff rounded off, and it ends up sounding restless and unfinished to me. But there's probably an age difference here  ;)

NP  Opeth:  Deliverance  *horns*

The end of the title song is mind-blowing  8)

Re Devin, I mean, he's heavy enuff,

What does that mean "heavy enough"?

Restless is probably his middle name. I think Manatee doesn't agree with you on the age difference.

You know, Paxi, I like things nice and heavy, and some growl and scream don't disturb me ... nice and heeeeeavy  ;)

;D Would suit him.

Manatee is a young man, he's early 50's, we even call him Greenie - almost as young as you, Paxi ;)

Greenie has a bit weird taste - but don't tell him that, youths can be very sensitive  :)

NP  Mike Oldfield:  Amarok

In the long run, I could do without the many !#€%&§, but there sure is a lotta wonderful music on this album  *horns*

8) Cool!

One of the keyboard players was featured on an Ayreon album.
One of the singers/bass players is on the next Ayreon album.
One of the guitar players should be on a future Ayreon album.

;)
Guess who.

Devin Townsend - "Epicloud"
Nothing wrong with good ol' Hevy Devy here. Not so restless, pretty focused and really awesome!

Roine Stolt - "Hydrophonia"
An instrumental album and a really good one at that! Got it for seven euros. I have a few instrumental albums. See if you can spot them over here.
Anyone else here who likes instrumental albums?

The Flower Kings - "Paradox Hotel"
After Roine's album I wanted to try this one out again. Sounds much better now for some reason. Some bits remind me of Yes, some of Genesis. Anyone here who thinks this album is really good?

PH

This morning I was playing selections from Roine Stolt's "Hydrophonia" and "The Flower King".

Now playing:
Neal Morse - "God Won't Give Up"

My mom's here, and she loves this, so yeah. *horns*

NP Magenta - The Twenty Seven Club

It's on free linstening for one week on progstreaming.com. To those who haven't tried Magenta yet, do yourself a favor ;)  As a fan, I have already pre-ordered it, even if I was rather disappointed with their previous album.
