Come on then... By errm... 'demand'... Pick 3 favorite marillion albums. ;D

Studio albums only, here we go then!
I just started to realize that You forgot Besides Themselves Album from 1988, with Marillions debut single Market Square Hero's, the brilliant but sadly always ignored song named Grendel, other nice songs as Cinderella Search and Lady Nina.
Walk along the Waterfall, watching as the world turns red
Wonder where the river flows, and the blood on the River bed
Poison lies to close to us, Reach across the salt and Sand
Moving Deeper into the Land

'B-Sides Themselves' was a compilation album...  "Grendel" was on the 12" "Market Square Heroes" single.

That's why I didn't put them on.  ...Studio albums only! ;)

For me Marillion died when Fish left so easy poll this one - Script, Fugazi & Misplaced

.... you took the words right out of my mouth.... (Meat Loaf docet...  ;) )

...same choices for me....
Does it to matter to you?
In the lions' cage we're all the same.

I've voted on the first and the last two.
Because those are the only ones I've heard from Marillion.

How is the album 'Brave'?
Is it any good?

Which of the Marillion albums is the most Arena-like album?
And I don't mean Songs.../Pride era, I mean Visitor/Immortal/Contagion era.

keyboardistmatt

Brave is generally regarded as one of (if not the) best albums of the 'H' era...

It is a great album, though! :)

To me I think Immortal album I hear some recognizable things with Marillion, maybe with the album Seasons End (maybe Brave as well) of Marillion (first H album). I think Fugazi and Script for a Jesters Tear do think about Pride and Songs from the Lions Cage. (But You're not interested in that). To me I look at it a bit different, I allready knew Marillion since Seasons end came out in 1989, and the first Arena album I heard was Immortal.

Again I have to agree with this.  The H era albums are hard to listen to if you have gotten used to Marillion with Fish.
No longer feeling anything
Fading fast
Nothing lasts
Beyond the waking hour

Don't want to start a Fish vs H debate - there's enough of that on the Marillion forum. I love both eras of Marillion, having been a fan for 22 years! But if I had to choose between them, I would choose H.

My favourite albums change on an almost daily basis, but at the moment I would say Marbles, Afraid of Sunlight and Seasons End.

I like 'Marbles' as well.  There are things going on in that album that Marillion haven't done before, which is really super. :)
