Just received from an Amazon shop:

NP  Van Halen 3  *horns*

I'm ahead of you guys again  ;)
Do you talk about the 1998 album, called III, or about the third album of the band, Women And Children First ? If it is the latter, I don't think that you are ahead of me since this is the very first vinyle album I bought in March 1980, along with Duke's Genesis, that was released this same month. I really liked Duke and really disliked Women And Children First (though it has a great title and cover). I haven't listened to it for something like thirty years !

NP  Van Halen III  (on repeat)  *horns*

Here's a super song with a very visible (audible) Genesis touch the sorta song Genesis could'a made post-Abacus if they had kept their touch and had a guitarist with Eddie's abilities:

Still listening to Subsignal's "Paraiso"

I don't know why, but it makes me think of a heavier version of Yes. :o  Does that make sense?

Just like Bupie, I'm impressed! I'm surely going to listen to more of this!

This is the successor to Sieges Even, right? Does that band come recommended?

According to Wikipedia Sieges Even was disbanded in 2008. Two members (Arno Menses and Markus Steffen) formed Subsignal. I've heard the Sieges Even album 'Paramount', which is a fine album.

np: Leap Day - From The Days Of Deucalion, Chapter 1. Nice music, but don't like the vocals at all.
'I will surrender my heart to the sky
Oh, our love doesn't end here, it lives forever on the wings of time'

Toto - Wings of time (Kingdom of Desire)

Played Outworld again today. Still nice, but for some reason it doesn't grip me in the same way as it first did.

Now playing:
Steve Hackett - "Genesis Revisited II"

I really like this. Steve made a very nice tribute to his former band. The songs were already good of course, but I think he actually improved on them here and there. Mainly because of introductions or instruments. Some of the vocals are not really an improvement.

It's simply a question of balls, Paxi; some have'm, some don't. But don't worry, one can have a good life without'm, like half of the world's population are born without  ;D

I did have them. But when I listened to Outworld, they spontaneously dropped off. ;)

It will be fine. I'll listen to it again when I'm in my angry mood.

I very muchly like that album. :)
Though it's Airbag as we know it, it is a bit rougher than before.
I can appreciate that.  *horns*

Dream Theater ~ Dream Theater (2013)

I'm quite a bit dissapointed with the album.
Especially the 'big one' is a let down.
It's nice, especially the beginning but some parts are big question marks.
The orchestral piece in the middle and the end for instance...it would've been better if they skipped those two.
And then Along for the Ride. ...

Give me a break, guys. ... Mike the Ist was right about one thing; they lack inspiration. ...

Yes, I agree about this one
QuoteAnd then Along for the Ride. ...
I really like it, especially the guitar during the second verse and the keys solo. But I can understand that you have a déjà vu feeling about it.
Overall, I am not disappointed at all, even if I miss a masterpiece song like Breaking All Illusions on the previous album.

NP Big Big Train - Make Some Noise

PH

I'm with Mad on this. Although, I still like it. Dream Theater's best albums are behind us. But their selftitled album is still a good listen.
They are somewhat repeating themselves.
