Appelmoes??

What does (almost) everybody here fnd so good about Asia? I heard an album of then once and thought the music was imho quite boring. It al sounded too much the same or perhaps I didn't hear their best album?

NP: Marillion

I have all their studio albums. The first three albums (Asia, Alpha, Astra) with John Wetton on vocals are great IMO. The first album with John Payne on vocals (Aqua) is not so good, but 'Aria' rules! And I like 'Aura' and the last album 'Silent nation' too. This last album is 'back to the eigthies', heavier, but also proggy influences. The title track 'Silent nation' is my favourite. It was my second favourite band after Toto, but I have to admit that Arena has come between them  ;).

Yeah, I also have all the Asia albums (no live ones though). Don't think they've really done a bad one (except possibly side 2 of "Astra"). The first one and Aria would be favourites.  ;D

I had those three first Asia albums. For some reason, I got so sick of them, I can't put them on even today without getting slightly nauseaus. However, the Payne era Asia is one of my top 5 favourite bands (Along with Magnum, Malmsteen, Shadow Gallery and Marillion) -Arena of course at 6th place. *COUGH*. I think "Aria" is the best one, followed by "Aura". But none sucks.

I don't like grunting too. For example in Ayreon. Don't skip it, but I'm glad when it's over.
