About Daniel Cavanagh (Yesterday I wrote 'Danny' ;))
You preordered?
It's not on Spotify yet. Probably tomorrow then. I will definitely listen!
No, a website had the first right to stream it (legally :)). Nice album indeed, a bit 'Anathema-light'. You have to be in the right mood for it. Anneke van Giersbergen also sings on it, beautiful. And now it's on Spotify as well.

Damanek - "On Track"

I'll start with buying this album and I really recommend that you listen to this too!
Will check it out, thanks!

np: Beyond God - A Moment Of Black

Those two bands will perform here tomorrow. I decided to attend the gig. Female fronted metal, a bit gothic, Within Temptation alike. Well, let's see or better, hear. But the ladies are looking great, so I will see too ::) ;). Will let you know how it was.

Damanek - "On Track"
Fourth or fifth listen. Fantastic album!

I remember (almost a decade back) talking about Guy Manning's voice. I chose some words that I now really regret. (I can't find the original post, which is probably better that way). Guy contacted me with a private message and he really put me into my place. I felt so bad about it. I'm sure Nicky will also remember. ;D

Anyway, I really like his voice here on this album. It's so warm and perfectly suits the music. I can't believe I used to dislike it. I'm sure Guy doesn't mind me saying that his voice really improved big time over the years. And I think (hope) I matured a little bit in these years as well and can finally see the charm in his voice now. Sadly, his solo output is not on Spotify, but I'll make sure to set things straight and get into his discography ASAP.

I'll start with buying this album and I really recommend that you listen to this too!

I also listened to this new album two times now. I'm not convinced of it's brilliance yet. I read everywhere that it's soooo good. It's not bad though! The previous album grabbed me right away, but this one isn't. Of course I'll keep on listening!
Just finished third listening. Still growing on me, but it will never top the Riverside level as far as I'm concerned.

Also Alan Reed's "Honey On The Razor's Edge", which is pretty great! For some reason I expected a singer/songwriter kind of album (something all vocalists-going-solo seem to do), but what I got was a real Neo Prog album that sounds like a true band. Cool!
Yeah, lovely album. Own it (too) and it's much more proggier than his first solo release 'First In A Field Of One'. I'm a fan of his voice 8).

jp: Beyond God - A Moment Of Black

Wanted to go to a gig with Kingfisher Sky next week in my hometown. Unfortunately they cancelled their tour, Beyond God replaces them. Played this album two times by now to see if I still want to go. Undecided yet. It's female fronted metal from The Netherlands, think Stream of Passion, but not at that level. Still a week to think about it :). The costs are only 7,50 euros.

7,50 euros is not a lot. Based on the amount of money, you might consider going. The only other thing that you should take into account is the fact that you're spending your free evening. I don't know them, so I can't comment on that.

np: Lunatic Soul - Fractured

Second spin. I own the first LS album, but  don't play it that often. A bit too dark, lacking melodies. Prefer the music of 'big brother' Riverside. I have to say this one is more melodious, I'll give it some more time, it may result in buying the album ;).

Today I was listening to:
Ozric Tentacles - "Technicians Of The Sacred" (nice background music!)
Echolyn - "I Heard You Listening" (A bit of a personal discovery for me, I heard of them before, but this is good stuff)

Also Alan Reed's "Honey On The Razor's Edge", which is pretty great! For some reason I expected a singer/songwriter kind of album (something all vocalists-going-solo seem to do), but what I got was a real Neo Prog album that sounds like a true band. Cool!

And at the moment I'm listening to Damanek for the very first time. I'm halfway the album and quite honestly I am loving this A LOT! Guy Manning (vocals, keyboards, guitars) is the mastermind behind this project/band, along with Dan Mash on bass and Marek Arnold on keyboards and a bunch of guest musicians. Appearantly this is some sort of sideproject of United Progressive Fraternity. I'm blown away! Good job Guy and Co.!

I like these kind of discoveries! (My wallet doesn't...)
